This month’s run will be at a different time of the day (from our normal 9.am. start).
Bruce McCardle, one of our regulars, has organised a Five 5Ks in a Day event, and we will be joining him (and Phil Cox, another regular) for the fifth and last of those 5K runs.
is an all-day affair, taking in five parkrun courses: Lower Hutt, Porirua, Kapiti Coast, Palmerston North, and Greytown Woodside Trail. This event is on a Sunday, so it’s not officially a parkrun day (Saturday). The concept is a Freedom Run, which is a traversing of an official parkrun course at a date and time that isn’t 8 a.m. on a Saturday.
For this event, they will start off early in the morning, and the plan is for the Freedom Run bus to roll in to the Woodside area in time for a 5.05 p.m. start. There, they will run the course of the Greytown Woodside Trail parkrun.
So, for our April run, we will join them. Time and date again: 5.05 p.m. on Sunday 28 April. Location: the Woodside end of the Greytown Woodside (Rail) Trail. It’s just next to the Woodside Station. For directions, see the parkrun site
